DAE think Denis Koller's Prob Graph Model class (coursera) tries to be straddle being intuitive and formal but somehow manages to be neither well and so does nothing well?

Just started the online course but I'm not sure I'm going to continue it. I don't like her teaching style.

I can't put my finger on it. The examples aren't worked out much and their explanations seem to rely on a lot of intuition. There's definitions but they are never applied, except in the most hand wavy of ways, to the examples. I feel like I'm being asked to put together a puzzle with randomly selected pieces dumped onto the floor. I'm not sure I wouldn't be better off just using a book.

Maybe this is just a start-up issue (the class just started its second week) and as stuff sinks in I won't feel this way.
