Does knot theory ever intersect with machine learning?

Very much a novice to machine learning. I'm wondering if knot theory ever intersects with machine learning, and what the results are. I know (or I think I've at least read about them...) there are topological systems related to machine learning. If you have any articles or papers, I'd love to read them.
