There are a wealth of online and offline resources on machine learning. What works do you think every student of machine learning should acquaint himself with?
I think Bishop's Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning is an amazing introductory textbook which definitely warrants a place on a list of must-reads, and I also think that Hastie and Tibshiranis Elements of Statistical Learning deserves a spot. But I am fairly new to the field, so I am keen to hear what you think. Influential articles are welcome too.
