Looking for a refresher on Machine Learning principles for a summer job. Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach or Elements of Statistical Learning?

Hey everybody, Title says it all. I'm starting a job in a few days and need to refresh myself on some core machine learning principles. Does anybody have insight on which book might be better-suited for that? Thanks
