What fields/jobs use machine/statistical learning on a daily basis?

I know machine learning algorithms (although perhaps not under that name) are used in speech/image processing, computational biology, quantitative finance, marketing, and astrophysics (according to a recent /MachineLearning post). I am wondering what other fields you can expect to find people using similar techniques as an integral part of their daily work?

(I am a master's electrical engineering student studying digital signal processing and considering work in fields utilizing statistical learning.)
